1 December 2025 will remain a landmark date for the Lyceum Clubs of Paris and London, which officially sealed their partnership and affirmed their desire to develop friendly, cultural and long-term relationship.
This twinning, initiated in 2024 with the approval of the Board of the Club of Paris and the support of the French Federation, had already been placed under the best auspices during a first pre-twinning visit in January 2025. On that occasion, the London twinning committee was warmly welcomed by the Paris committee, led by Sabine Bouillon, and many members. A particularly carefully planned programme had been prepared: lunch at the Senate restaurant bringing together 92 members from Paris, a working session followed by dinner at the home of the President, Pascale Anderson Mair, then, the next day, a private visit to the Hôtel de Charost, the residence of the British Ambassador, before lunch at the Cercle de l’Union Interalliée.
Later in the year, it was time for our London friends to welcome a delegation of 25 members of the Paris Lyceum Chapter to a sparkling and festive London. For this three-day visit, they had put together a programme that harmoniously combined culture, tradition and conviviality. The participants shared some wonderful discoveries: the guided tours of the Wallace Collection, two impressive Victorian houses and the must-seen Turner & Constable exhibition. One of the most moving moments was undoubtedly the Christmas carol evening, when voices united under the direction of talented members and musicians, creating a moment of grace and shared joy.
The highlight of the meeting was the gala evening at the Oxford & Cambridge Club, where the twinning was officially signed in front of fifty Lyceum members. With so many interests in common, our two clubs share vitality and solidarity, assets that will help us build the future of our Lyceum together.
